Seattle band Spesh spin out a swirling, dream-pop sound lovingly indebted to British C86 indie and shoegaze. The songs are soft-focus but supple, faded technicolor seeping in at the edges to overtake the typical Pacific Northwest gray. For this playlist, the band dig deep into UK influences such as the Pastels, Cocteau Twins, Orange Juice, and many more, but also include further afield faves from Björk to Roedelius.
Spesh says, “[This is] music we dance, eat, sing, cry, love, and wake up to. Songs and bands that have influenced the way we see and do and play things.”
